Abstract

The present report is included in a basic descriptive irvestigation about the cognitive emotional characteristics of students who entered the university in march 2000 as Physical Education Majors at the Catholic University of Maule. It was developed through an exploration of psychological tests in the areas of Personality, Vocational Profile, Strategies and Styles of Learning that were applied to the students. The sample covered 61 students, males and females, from which 43 are men and 18 are women. The purpose of this study is to provide information to the Physical Education College, in respect to the characteristics of its students, so that academic methodologies could, eventually, be examined to generate better learning, as well as the dynamics of the organizational culture, climate of interpersonal relationships, strategic vision of the College, evaluating forms, and interventions in order to improve the scholarity developed by the Physical Education College of this university.
