Desarrollo motor grueso en alumnos de 8, 9 y 10 años de edad en clases de educación física y talleres extracurriculares

Abstract

The aim was to determine whether there are differences in the gross motor development among students who do extracurricular activities and those who do not participate of these in the Professional Technical School Los Acacios. A cross-sectional, descriptive, quantitative approach was used. There was a non probabilistic (for convenience) sample of 96 students who underwent the test TGMD-2. According to the results, it was observed that from the students who participated of extra-curricular activities women rated higher than men for the ages evaluated. The students who do not participate in extra-curricular activities present a gross motor development generally classified as in the category for the age or below this one. Considering the results obtained, it can be concluded that the students that in addition to physical education and health class attended extracurricular workshops have a higher gross motor development than their mates who only attended regular physical education and health classes.
