Aplicación del running-based anaerobic sprint test (rast) en las selecciones deportivas de la Universidad Católica del Maule

Abstract

The present investigation aims at generating evidence on the assessment test of the anaerobic power and fatigue index, callad Running Based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST), in addition to other indirect measurement tests, it becomcs an excellent measuring instrumcnt of the anaerobic power indicator because of its low cost and easy management. It also provides the fatigue index calculation, which is another important variable not included in any other test and that is necessary to consider for the development of physical and sports conditions. In this study, the UCM FENAUDE 2007 participating athletes' anaerobic power and fatigue index are established by means of the RAST test measurement. RAST is a functional anaerobic test bascd on speed sprints, which challenge the anaerobic capacity of an athlete through measurement of his anaerobic power and fatigue index. Comparisons by gender and by individual and collective sport are also aims of this study. The text contains definitions, general characteristics and anaerobic power and fatigue index classifications, basic physical capacities, global description of the RAST Test and some empirical evidence as contribution to the study.
